Water Cycle
Evaporation Condensation Precipitation Storage Conservation Pollution Aquifer Water Supply Reservoir Surface Water Groundwater |
The path water takes on Earth and in the atmosphere, in various stages.
The first stage of the water cycle - the sun heats water, changing it from a liquid to a gas (water vapor). The second stage of the water cycle - as water vapor rises, it cools and turns back into liquid form (clouds) The third stage of the water cycle - when the condensing water gets heavy enough, if falls from the sky as rain, sleet, snow, etc. Also called accumulation - the buildup of precipitation as lakes, rivers, oceans, etc. Saving our water supply so that we will always have clean water Harmful or poisonous materials, trash, and human waste that lower the quality of our air and water Underground rock formations that contain water for our wells and springs The amount of water on Earth that is okay for us to drink and use for food production A holding area for water. Sometimes built with dams. All of the visible water on Earth. All of the water that is underground. |
